Business Tips and Tricks, Hope Wissel, Relax, Reflect, Recharge

Time for a Reality Check

Happy Friday!  This has been a rough week for me – emotionally and spiritually.  The roller coaster ride this week, has left me exhausted and seeking refuge.   Satan had a field day with me so as a wise woman (thank you Hope Shortt) likes to remind me – Satan fights the hardest when God is ready to bless us.  So, I have been fighting Satan all week, trusting in God and believing that if I continue to lean on HIM, my prayers will be answered.  As of now, they haven’t been answered – or at least not in the way I expected or in my time but I know that it isn’t all about me, right?

Here are some wise words that will guide me into the weekend:

  • I love a quote from yesterday’s blog radio broadcast from ETTM “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door!”.  Thank you Lynette Barbieri.  This was a great reminder that I shouldn’t just sit back and WAIT for an opportunity – I need to BUILD one.  How many of you are waiting for opportunity to knock?  Waiting for the PERFECT time to do something?  Why wait?
  • Robin Beelman, a Senior Executive Director with Thirty One shared this on her page from Darren Hardy….
Focus your attention on ideas, information and knowledge that can help you grow, prosper, create and contribute to making a positive difference based on your unique talent, skills and effort. Turn OFF the rest… it will change your world and your life! What will you turn OFF tomorrow?  This is a KICK in the BUTT for me since I struggle with comparing myself to others.  When I am drained – Pity Patti, Negative Nellie and Doubtful Debbie form a tag team to try and keep me from focusing on my strengths.  What is YOUR unique ability and are you focused on it?
  • As Vanessa Coppes said in a great blog called “7 Ways to Call Yourself Out on Your Own Bull$#!T”:  When you’re feeling drained…unplug. Yes that means not checking your mobile device every 5 minutes. Reconnect with your spouse, your children, go for a walk, pray. Take at least 5 minutes to center yourself. If you do this every day, I promise you it will remind you of your why. And your why is what matters.  LOL.  Yet another struggle for me which is probably why I am struggling this week.  Rob has even said, “Your head is always facing down” meaning that I am ALWAYS looking at my phone. You would think that would have been enough of a reality check, right?

So, I am ready for the weekend to relax, reflect and recharge.  Tomorrow, I get to spend some time with some AMAZING women at Enchanted Makeovers as they prepare for their annual “She is Me Event“.  I will do all I can to CELEBRATE – ENCOURAGE – REWARD them in Thirty One style.  A gentle reminder of the many blessings that Thirty One has given me and the greatest gift is to share that with others.

Have a ThirtyOne-derful weekend!
