Business Tips and Tricks, Hope Wissel

Is Blogging on YOUR to do List

I can’t believe that I have been blogging for almost 1 year… Thank you Vanessa Coppes for the initial challenge.  I love sharing the things that are in my head with others.  Yes, some are random and personal while others are informative, things  that I have learned or read about that might help YOU or someone you know in their business.

I thought I would share some tips from another article that I found by Nicholas Tart called “How to Get Bloggers to See and Follow Your Blog“.  By no means do I profess to be a big-time blogger or have lots of followers, but I do love sharing and networking.   My dream is that one day my two passions (beside my hubby) – Thirty One and blogging will take me to new heights.  I am starting to dream about places that scare me…

Here are some tips…

1.  If you want followers, you have to follow.  Makes sense right. Look for blogs that have some of these traits:

  1. Clearly defined niche. They all focus on a very specific problem for a very specific audience.
  2. Distinctive voice. People know who wrote the post without seeing their name attached to it.
  3. Unique blog design. They have custom built blog designs.
  4. Creating from authority. They write based on what they know.
  5. Consistent content. They create regularly and reliably.

Okay, so I need to work on this one.  I need to set a time so that I STOP roaming the internet and get work done.  It is sort of like not opening Pinterest or Facebook until I have finished certain tasks in my day.

2.  Find Other Bloggers in Your Niche.  Of course this means you have to know what your niche is, right?  I am not sure what my niche is yet.  Business tidbits, personal experiences, training…Once you figure it out, try to find similar bloggers by:

  1. Search relevant keywords. You’ll find all of the top bloggers in your niche if you search the keywords that you want to rank for.
  2. See who your favorite bloggers interview. Bloggers interview the people they admire.
  3. Find top lists. If you’re able to find a few of the top ranking, top blogger lists, there’s a good chance that the top bloggers are actually featured.

3.  Comment on Their Blogs Regularly.  I read several blogs daily but very seldom do I comment.  I am always so excited when some one actually takes the time to write a comment on one of my blogs.  I ALWAYS make it a point to comment at least a Thank you so that they know that I read them.  Time to make myself visible in the blogging realm.

So, who is ready to overcome the blogging obstacle?  Don’t feel like you can commit to a daily blog, try a weekly.  Although Vanessa would say “do it for 30 days” so that it becomes a habit.  Post you blog link here so that we can all help each other to grow our networks…

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!
