Beaver House Christian Store

Today’s blog is dedicated to Beaver House Christian Store.  I met the Beaver family many years ago when I became a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.  Lorraine was there to guide me on my journey as I became a member of the church.  Her love, support and unbelievable faith was and is inspiring to me.  I have watched this family struggle over the last 2 plus years and their faith has always shined through the struggles. I was excited to see Bill had opened up an online store.  I always love seeing Bill at church because when he sees me, he smiles, and calls me Faith.  I know, not my name but I believe it is God’s way of reminding me to have faith in him.  So, here is a little bit about Beaver House directly from their website:

Hello, my name is Bill Beaver and I welcome you to the Beaver House Christian Store and Blog. I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself and why I created this website.

I started my career in retail many years ago and served in executive positions until December of 2015. During that time our family relocated 19 times. My wife and I have been involved in many of our church’s outreach and ministry programs including visitations, feeding the homeless, preparing meals, rummage sales, communion, ushering and church dinners. We invited a family of 6 to stay in our home for several months while our church members worked to rebuild their home. This was an one of the most rewarding experiences in our life and our families continue to share special events and holidays.

In October of 2009 I opened my first website and sold a huge variety of products. The only problem is I can’t say I was passionate about many of the products I sold. I was passionate about the business but not the products. I incorporated Christian products into my assortment and once even opened a Christian website. But, just like we sometimes experience with our Christian faith, I wasn’t “all in”.

Have you ever experienced that? You love God and you accept Jesus Christ as your savior but there’s something that’s tugging at you? Something that just won’t let you go “all in”. That’s what was going on with me. So, I decided it was time to stop trying all this different “stuff” and put all my energy into a Christian website. Beaver House Christian Store sells Christian T Shirts, Christian apparel and Christian gifts. The goal was to create a website where anyone can shop without fear of objectionable sayings or offensive products.

But there was still something missing. My son opened my eyes to the fact that my life experiences have prepared me with a wealth of information to share. Then a life changing event took place in our family on August 4th, 2014. That event would allow us to witness a miracle and see the strength of God’s healing hand. You will hear more about that as time goes by. This is what I call “God Things” and that’s why my blog has that title. I believe God is working in our lives every day and sometimes we see it and sometimes we don’t. Sometimes it opens our eyes right away and sometimes not for days or months – or never.

I wanted to create a place where all can share the “God Things” happening in your life. “God Things” don’t have to be, and most likely are not, miracles that will boggle the mind or be a news headline. “God Things” can be simple things like a sermon that motivates someone to accept Jesus Christ. A Church dinner where many can share a meal and have great conversation. Or a youth event that changed you or those around you. What this is not is a place for the Three C’s -Criticize, Condemn and Complain. There are plenty of forums for that. This is place to share the good news and rejoice in what’s happening to others around the world.

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!
