Do You Listen to Your Core Desires

Monday morning – the moment many dread as they head to their job wishing for a longer weekend.  I am blessed to be able to work from home and make my own hours.  I have been working with a coach and an amazing group of women doing “31days & 31 ways to Jumpstart Your Abundance”.  My second go around and new things are coming to light.

We have been talking a lot about core values and our core desires.  Maybe it is the MS and memory issues or maybe it is the inner gremlins who take joy in squashing my hopes and dreams but this is a struggle for me.  Whatever the reason, I’m sure I’m not alone.

Let’s take a minute to focus on our life  – our definition of success, and how we can find purpose, fulfilment, and joy by letting the things which truly matter guide us.  I know a heavy topic for a Monday morning but give it a try!

How many of you struggle with the noise, and “norms” of society which make it difficult to stay connected to your core desires.

I have been trying to focus on my core desires in my work and my life.  These are the things which help me to focus on how I will prioritize and spend my days, how I define success, and how I will show up in my life.  Here is what I came up with:

Financial independence

I never thought much about being financially independent.  It was always about paying the bills and having “things”.  As I have gotten older, health challenges have come to light, I want to feel stable, secure, self-sufficient, and be independent financially.  It goes beyond wanting a  roof over my head (hubby takes care of all the household stuff) and food on the table.  I want to feel happy and at peace by making mindful, intentional, and responsible decisions when it comes to finances, and by showing up wholeheartedly for my business too.   It means paying off credit card debt.  This is such a huge change for me from just “winging it”.

Emotional & physical well-being

Living with a chronic health condition has taught me to pay more attention to my health and well-being.  I can’t change the struggles my health issues sometimes cause, but I can control how I get through them.  Feeling emotionally and physically healthy is something I have been prioritizing in my life this year.  I try to honor the needs of my health in my business, and how I support my health in the lifestyle choices too.

Living & telling my truth

I struggle so much with accepting who I am, yet, I am willing to share my strength, hopes and experiences with everyone.  I continue to work on accepting who I am – the good, the bad and the ugly.  I am learning to embrace my  strengths and weaknesses. In my business, I want to inspire others never letting pride or fear hold me back from showing up, supporting and encouraging others.

Meaningful work

I crave meaningful and joyful work. I long to make a difference and am always searching for my true purpose.  It isn’t about the money I make, it is about what the money can do to make a difference.  I love when customers feel comfortable enough to share their story, their fears, their joys, and their desires with me.  My heart swells with joy, when I see someone smile who is struggling.  I want to honor this desire by never losing sight of what matters most to me in my work, and never letting money be bigger than the “why” behind what I do.

To be of service

Whether it’s in my business, in my relationship, friendships, and with my family, or how I contribute to the world, I always want to be the positive in the lives of those around me.  Yes, I want to live a joyful and fulfilling life, BUT I don’t want to always be looking at my own needs.

Connection

I long to feel connected to what matters most to me, to the people in my life who I love and adore, to my business and the work I do.  I try to stay aligned with my core values, desires, and intentions, by carving out time for my favorite people, by interacting in and engaging with the world around me, and by getting outside of my comfort zone. YIKES! A tough one but so important in staying connected with the world to find ways I can play a small but positive part in it.

Start Your Morning Right

imgres

Is this you first thing in the morning BEFORE your morning coffee?  I’ll admit, my hubby would probably say this is me despite my best efforts.

How-to-attract-at-the-start-of-the-day-400x209

Enter my morning coffee and I am ready to start the day.  Whether I am working my business or just trying to get errands and household chores done, I set an intention for the day.

I get into the right frame of mind.  I know you are saying BUT the kids need to get ready for school, hubby is hurrying for work and maybe even you are trying to get out the door to your JOB.  How is that possible, right?

The first step is to get up earlier than the rest of the family.  I hear the LOUD groan BUT if you are getting up the same time as everyone else, you will be reacting to everyone and everything.  Do you really thing that is the way to reach your goals – whatever they are?

Even 30 minutes earlier will make a HUGE difference.  Start small if that seems scary – say 15 minutes.  The sooner you start to send positive vibrations out into the world, the better the chance for it to build and work miracles.

Happy awakeningVisualizing

When you first open those eyes, are you already picturing a day of chaos and uncompleted tasks.  Why not try forming a mental picture about how you want your day to unravel. No matter what the task is, it is within your power to visualize everything happening successfully. When you imagine carrying out your tasks successfully, you will help to focus, and focusing on what you want leads to your positive results.

 Use Positive Words

When you talk to people first thing in the morning, do you use positive words or does Negative Nelly creep in?  If you ONLY allow yourself to use positive words, you will help in attracting positive results.  Instead of talking about how sick a child (or pet) is, why not say “I am taking them to the doctor so they can be healthy and happy”.  Choose to use your words to help you focus on a positive outcome instead of the potential pitfalls.

You always want to be open to receive greater abundance.

Mindful Dressing

This one, I never really thought about but it really does make a difference. The truth is that what you wear is important because the way you dress sends a message, not only to others, but also to the universe. Have you ever noticed that on the days that you feel great in your clothes, you feel positive so you focus on the positive and you receive abundance.  It all links to releasing your mind from clutter that so you can bask in the confidence that you exude because you feel good about your outfit.   Confidence raises your vibration and makes attraction effortless.

When you clearly focus on envisioning what you want in your mind, you will add success in life. Add dressing powerfully to clear away negativity and leave a clear path for your intentions to materialize. Using positive words when you speak will keep positive vibrations flowing and make attracting what you dream seamless.

Are you ready to attract the abundance that you so richly deserve?

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!

WOOHOO Wednesday!

Let's Celebrate 1

The first thing I think about when I see “CELEBRATE” is the disco song – yes, I was a disco queen!  I begin to sing it in my head and immediately begin to smile.

I have been working with an AMAZING Fierce Cheerleading (no, not the sport) Coach, Eryka Peskin for the last few months and it has helped me change my perspective on so many things.  I want to share some of her wise words of wisdom.  How it changed my thinking from the “Negative Nelly” to “I am AWESOME”.

I met Eryka through some mutual friends and I have participated in TWO of her virtual Celebration Challenges.  Each time, I discover new things about myself while speaking abundance into my world.  It is all about changing our mind set…..

When we engage in the act of celebrating something, we allow ourselves to acknowledge its importance and the goodness it brings to our lives. We mark the significance of whatever it is we’re celebrating by recognizing and acknowledging it.

When we celebrate something, we honor whatever it is we’re celebrating…and that means we honor ourselves, too!

And that’s why consistently celebrating helps us cultivate a certain mindset, a certain way of being. Because it’s one way for us to create a lifestyle where we are consistently honoring ourselves and taking note of the amazing things that happen in our lives All. The. Time.

I have learned to celebrate every day, being grateful for just waking up and speaking abundance into the universe.  Did you sleep in a bed?  CELEBRATE!  Do you have running water?  CELEBRATE!  Do you have clothes and food?  CELEBRATE

Seems a little too basic right?  The truth is that by celebrating the basics around us we begin to appreciate the every day things in our lives.  We start the day out thinking positively and seeking abundance.  Okay, I can hear the grumbles already and that proverbial “BUT” that comes after everything we say we are grateful for.

I totally get that things can be rough – some may still be digging out of the 20+ inches of snow on the East Coast.  Some have have health issues, a rotten job, lots of debt, a bad relationship – we all have challenges.  But have you noticed that when you focus on the negative side of things, more negative things happen?

Have you ever noticed that when you focus on the positive aspect of things, you get more done?

One of the first things that I learned to celebrate was the basics in my life.  I celebrate those things in my life that I often take for granted:

  • I celebrate having a warm home, with a roof over my head where I can take refuge.
  • I celebrate that I woke up rested and ready to conquer the day
  • I celebrate that I had a great cup of coffee that warmed my insides before heading out into the cold.

It’s easy.  Why don’t you try it?  I actually continue this “celebration” as the day goes on when Negative Nellie stops by by taking 5 minutes to do a gratitude break.  It clears my head and gets me back on the right track.

What is YOUR favorite positive mantra? OR share your celebrations with us?

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!

SQUASH that Inner Critic

stomp goose egg

WOOHOO!  It is FRIDAY!  Who is ready for the weekend?  I know that I am!

We have all known people who are really critical, right?  The person who loves to point out when you gained a few pounds.  The person who points out your flaws and reminds us when we are not doing as well as others.  I don’t know about you but these are people that I tend to shy away from, so why do I let myself do that same thing.  It is the background “noise” that chips away at our confidence that leads to fear and doubt.

I have been blessed a part of a Celebration Circle with a Fierce Cheerleader, Eryka Peskin.  And now the author of an e-book called “50+ Ways to Jumpstart Your Abundance“.  The greatest gift she has given me is the ability to STOMP on my Inner Critic.  Here are some tips to CRUSH that inner critic:

1. Listen to your negative thoughts

I know, crazy right?  But the only way to silence that inner critic is to listen.  Better yet, CELEBRATE (or acknowledge) it knowing that you are worthy of so much more.  You can’t CRUSH the negative thoughts unless you acknowledge them.  Those negative thoughts usually stem from insecurities that have no basis in your life.  They are often even silly.  If you wouldn’t say it to a friend, why say it to yourself?

2. Get productive

Some negative thoughts are unwarranted and overly judgmental while others lean toward real issues that need to be addressed.  If it is a part of your life that needs improving – do something about it.  Don’t feed the fire of negative talk – take steps (even baby ones) to make the change.  Set goals and track your progress. Gradually improving yourself will replace negative thoughts with positive ones and ultimately CRUSH your inner critic.

3. Re-think how you see other people

Negative thoughts bring more negative thoughts and they can be toxic to your soul.  Ask yourself, am I critical and judgmental of others?  Be honest, we’ve all been there! If you are critical of others, you will be critical of yourself. Feeding into negativity will only come around to bite you in the butt.

4. Ask yourself this question

Are you not sure if you’re being too critical of yourself? I love this suggestion by Life coach Tony TeegardenAsk yourself this one question:  Would you say this to your five year old self? Would you tell your five-year-old self that they’re not smart enough, that they’re overweight or untalented? Of course not! You’d tell them to believe in themselves and that they can do anything they set their mind to. So, if you wouldn’t dare be so negative to your younger self, why do it now?

5. Remind yourself of how awesome you are

This is the fun part of our Celebration Circle.  I love that Eryka has us put a positive spin on everything in our lives that we may have once thought as negative. The truth is that sometimes the only way to silence your inner critic is to drown it out with positive statements.  Try giving yourself a little pep talk when you’re really getting critical.   I keep a list of my strengths handy so when the negative inner critic rears his head, I can read the list and remind myself what a strong, confident and capable woman I am.  It’s not about bragging, it’s about being honest with yourself about what you do well.

keep calm and sparkle on

How do you silence your inner critic? Hope you have a ThirtyOne-derful day!
