Tasty Tuesday: Be Still My Brownie Heart

Tasty Tuesday is BACK!!!! Lots of yummy recipes I have been sitting on for awhile BUT I am adding WW PP points where I can as well as tips for making things lighter and/or healthier.

TOTAL TIME: 1 hr 15 min (includes 30 min cool time)  SERVINGS: 12    COST:  $0.44/serving

Dense brownies are perfect for cutting into shapes using cookie cutters. A simple cookie cutter, like a heart shape, is best for these fudgy brownies. You can also cut into squares, triangles, or circles.

Ingredients

2 eggs

12 cup oil or melted butter + more for oiling

14 cup water or milk, your choice (I usually use Almond Milk)

1 pkg Chocolate Bliss Brownie Mix (pkg of 2)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Line 14 Sheet Pan with 14 Sheet Pan Liner. Generously brush with oil.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk eggs with oil, then whisk in water. Stir in mix; Let ingredients sit for about 20 minutes in the bowl before putting in the pan.
  4. Dcrape into pan. Smooth top and spread to the edges as best you can.
  5. Bake 15 min or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Rest in pan until cool, at least 30 min.
  7. Gently flip the Sheet Pan Liner and brownie onto a cutting board. Peel away the liner from the brownie. Using a cookie cutter of your choice, cut into shapes. Decorate with toppings, if desired.

Nutritional Information

Per serving (1/12th of the brownie): Calories 170, Fat 11 g (Saturated 1.5 g, Trans 0 g), Cholesterol 40 mg, Sodium 180 mg, Carbohydrate 16 g (Fiber 2 g, Sugars 11 g), Protein 3 g.

Tips:

  • I use unsweetened applesauce in the recipe to lower the WW PP. Oil is only used in prepping the pans.
  • I also use the multi-purpose steamer bake in the oven.
  • Decorate brownies with a thin layer of chocolate icing using the recipe on the back of Chocolate Fudge Sauce Mix. Use fun sprinkles to outline each heart.
  • Make brownie cake pops! Roll scraps of brownies into balls, then roll in shredded coconut. Place a lollipop stick into each ball.

Tasty Tuesday – Fudge Brownies

Today’s recipe is courtesy of Hungry Girl. The actual name of the brownie is “secret-ingredient” fudge brownie BUT I figured you would’t check it out if you knew there was a secret ingredient. LOL.  I’m trying to get back on track but I do love my sweets.  I never remember craving them this much but lately it has been really bad!  The best part about this recipe is I can make it gluten free with almond flour.

NUTRITION FACTS:  1/9th of pan (1 brownie): 107 calories, 2g total fat (1g sat fat), 190mg sodium, 23g carbs, 5.5g fiber, 4g sugars, 5.5g protein

Today is National Get Ready Day.  The day was first established in the mid 2000’s by the Public Health Association.   The Get Ready website has a wealth of information to help those that are interested..  There is even a coloring book that you can downloadAdobe Photoshop PDFThe campaign is encouraging individuals, families, and communities to consider what is required in the event of natural disasters, pandemic illnesses, infectious diseases, and other crisis events. Growing up on the Jersey Shore, we were always prepared for any type of crisis.

When I hear this question, I have a flashback to my days as a Girl Scout Brownie. I didn’t make it far in Girl Scouts but I always remember the saying “be prepared”.da6112a71651c8c23f7ef058c9676329

Are you prepared, whether at home or in your business?

The truth is “Be Prepared” should be your motto.  I mean who wants to be in the midst of the “craziness” when a hurricane or blizzard warning is issued.  You know what I mean, the ones who run to the store for bread, eggs, milk and maybe some batteries.  I am grateful hubby is BIG on being prepared and we are well stocked.

In your business, imagine getting a last minute call someone who wants you to be at their house in an hour for a impromptu party. Or, maybe you are at a gathering and someone asks if you have any catalogs or products to share with them?  I know, we all dream of this, right? Would you be ready? What if a team member had an emergency, could you step in to do their party? Do these thoughts make you sweat? Do you cringe thinking of the 1000 things you need to do to prep for a party?

Could you head out the door? Would your bags be packed and ready to go? Could you walk out the door after a quick change of clothes (or not) and do a home party?  Could you leave your house if the flood waters were coming – quickly?

If the answer any of these questions are a resounding NO, then you need to get it together. Batteries should be a mainstay in your home.  Candles, extra food, important papers & medications easy to grab if you needed to evacuate.  Do you have a list of all of the medications and supplements you take available?  I have one in my purse, one in my planner and one on my phone with the name of my doctors so if there was an emergency, I am ready.

As for your business, your display should always be packed. Your customer folders should be prepped with current flyers. Your hostess packets ready with all of the materials for your future hostess. I know, you are wondering how is this possible if you just had a party and your life is crazy busy, right? Honestly, my display bag is always ready. It may not be packed just so after a party but I could pick it up and go quickly. I always have extra hostess and guest packets ready just in case I use them all at a party.

Imagine this: You are out shopping, heading to the car using all of your Thirty One products. Someone stops you and asks about your bags. Will you have mini catalogs in your purse? Will you have a hostess packet in your car? Would you have product in your car if they wanted to see something? Will you remember to get their information to contact them?

First of all, if you aren’t a walking billboard with your products on a daily basis you are missing out on an AWESOME marketing opportunity.  My car is stocked with catalogs, order forms, sale flyers, pens, etc. Was it always? No but I didn’t want to NOT be prepared.

So, what do you need to do to “BE PREPARED”?  Will you be ready the next time there is an opportunity to share your business? Will you be ready when the next storm hits so you can sit home while others are scrambling?  Take time today on “Get Ready Day” to get ready.

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!

Be Prepared

When I hear this question, I have a flashback to my days as a Girl Scout Brownie.  I could say that my “S” personality developed back then when my focus was on helping others.  I didn’t make it far in Girl Scouts but I always remember the saying “be prepared”.

What about you are you prepared in your business?

The truth is that “Be Prepared” should be your motto.  Imagine getting a last minute phone from someone who wants you to be at their house in an hour for a impromptu party.  I know that is what we all dream of, right?  Would you be ready to head out the door? What if a fellow team member had an emergency, could you step in to do their party?  Do these thoughts make you sweat?  Do you cringe thinking of the 1000 things you need to do to prep for a party?

Could you head out the door?  Would your bags be packed and ready to go?  Could you walk out the door after a quick change of clothes (or not) and do a home party?

If the answer to these questions are a resounding NO, then you need to get it together.  Your party display should always be packed.  Your customer folders should be prepped with the current flyers.  Your hostess packets should be ready with all of the materials for your future hostess.  I know, you are wondering how is this possible if you just had a party and your life is crazy busy, right?  Honestly, my display bag is always ready.  It may not be packed just so after a party but I could pick it up and go quickly.  I always have extra hostess and guest packets ready just in case I use them all at a party.

Now imagine this: You are out shopping with your kids, heading to the car using all of your Thirty One products.  Someone stops you and asks about your bags.  Will you have mini catalogs in your purse?  Will you have a hostess packet in your car?  Would you have product in your car if they wanted to see something?  Will you remember to get their information to contact them?

First of all, if you aren’t using your products on a daily basis you are missing out on an AWESOME marketing opportunity.  If I am carrying a purse, you will find a zipper pouch full of mini catalogs, 2 full size catalogs, recruiting information,  a kids out and about bag, “enter my drawing” slips to get their information and the current sale flyer.  When I switch purses, that zipper pouch is always with me.  If I am just using a wristlet, I will at least have business cards and a mini catalog.  My car is now stocked with catalogs, order forms, sale flyers, pens, etc.  Was it always? No but I didn’t want to NOT be prepared.  I use the Hang Up Activity Center to hold everything and it is easy to access.

So, will you “BE PREPARED” the next time an opportunity comes to share your business?  That opportunity to could be a customer, a hostess or even your next Rockstar team member.

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!
