Thirty One’s June Hostess & Customer Specials

Unknown

OMG!!!!   It’s June… last weekend was the “unoffical” start of summer.  Alright, so maybe I am pushing things BUT it was the start of the tourist (AKA shoobie) invasion at the Jersey Shore.  This month is full of graduations

and end of the school year festivities.

I know, you are thinking… “I have NO time for a party“.  Money is tight with end of the year expenses.  What if I told you that YOU could reap all of the benefits of a “home party” without the work?  What if I could meet you at the ball park or in the parking lot at work?  What if you just carried a catalog with you and sent all of your friends to an online Facebook party that was fun?

I know “too good to be true”, right?  The truth is I have a party to fit your lifestyle this month.  And WHY am I willing to do this?  This months’ Customer and Hostess Special is WAY too good to pass up.

#1 –  June’s Customer Special is AMAZING!

Thirty One’s Customer Special for June is the MEDIUM UTILITY TOTE AND the STAND TALL INSERT for the medium utility tote!  Have you never heard of this product? Well, once a year it comes out for a limited time.  The BEST part is the addition of the Stand Tall Insert.  The perfect way to let your tote stand on its own.  It also adds pockets to the inside of your tote.

Business Ambush!

12647330_10204114821711225_7809503826527211544_n

Are the “winter blahs” setting in?  Have you tapped out your customers, family and friends, so your calendar is looking bleak?  Winter events are few and far between, right?  Would you love some new leads?

Why not try a “business ambush“?  They are super easy and genius.  I got this tip from an AWESOME Senior Executive Director from Thirty One.

How does it work???

Step #1:  Who do I ask?  You start contacting local businesses. Think of places you frequent: dentist, Doctor, hair salon, nail salon, gym where you or your kids go, etc.  Make a list of all of the business places that you go to during a week (or month).  Then think of any work places your friends work at. Do they have a lunch room or a break room?  Better yet, step out of your comfort zone and get your ASK on at restaurants, hair salons, etc.

Step #2:  What do I need?  Everything you see in this picture. Mini catalogs, event/drawing/door prize slips, small giveaway (whatever fits into your budget), a decorated shoe box or something similar to put the slips in for the giveaway, a sign that entices and a hostess packet for all of the workers!  Okay, I see you cringing about the hostess packet. You are thinking about the cost, right?  Honestly, I do this based on the size of the company or the number of workers.  If it is a big staff, just 1 or 2 hostess packets to key people so they can share.

Step #3: What am I doing?  Basically, you are getting a business to allow you to display this stuff for one week.  Yes, just a week.  You could actually do 4 of these in a month, at 4 different locations an just re-stock brochures, etc.   And you are collecting new leads.  And with any luck you got a catalog party from the workers! A small giveaway is WAY cheaper than any event you will ever pay for.  Maybe give away the hostess benefits or at least some of them by doing a drawing from the people who ordered.  If you have one rockstar employee who pulled it all together, let her have the hostess benefits.

Extra tips:
1. You can up the fun and create some excitement by posting the catalogs and cookies or catalogs and donuts picture to see who is interested.
2. If any business is hesitant you can offer to purchase a $10 gift card from them and give that away as well. Win/win all around and still cheaper than a booth at an event!

ZOOM

monday morning

Happy MONDAY!  I wanted to tell you that YOU are one in a Minion!  🙂

What a crazy week-end, right?  Jonas, the Blizzard of 2016, will go down in the record books at the Jersey Shore – as well as some other places.  Our wonderful neighbor blessed us by shoveling LOTS of the snow after he did his before he got ready to go to work.  I had to do some shoveling to get the SUV ready for hubby since he went in early to relieve those who had worked all weekend.  I was able to stay home – safe and warm.  I had fun cooking which allowed me to relax a little.  What did you do for fun?

Being snowbound was actually a blessing in disguise for me.  Let me explain…

I had a party scheduled in North Jersey with a group of my favorite ladies who live about 1 1/2 hours away from me.  When I work up Saturday morning to an avalanche of snow and a State of Emergency – I knew that I wasn’t going to be making  my road trip.  I couldn’t get out of my driveway or the street even if I wanted to, so I had to come up with another plan to help my hostess get her wish list for FREE.

My hostess is NOT on Facebook.  I know amazing, right?  So, I asked her to be my guinea pig with  ZOOM – a video conferencing program.  Our Home Office at Thirty One uses this for our Leadership calls and so does my upline.  She was up for the challenge.  I didn’t want to invest any money yet so I told her that it would be just 40 minutes of chatting and showing some of the products that everyone wanted to see.  If we went any longer there was a monthly cost.  Not a lot but I wasn’t ready to make an investment yet.

So at 7:25PM, we jumped on..

There were 6 guests and me.  My hostess was well prepared with a list of things that everyone wanted to see so I was ready too.  The 40 minutes went by really fast but I was able to answer everyone’s questions, highlight some great products and share with them an upcoming Retirement Sale that starts TODAY!  By the time the call was over my hostess was at $340 with orders still coming in.  She was thrilled since her goal was to get the Hostess Special which was an organizing set of products and all she needed was $200 in orders.

I will definitely use ZOOM again BUT the next time I will pay for the month so that we can talk for a lot longer.  I actually liked this BETTER than a Facebook party because you get to see everyone who is attending just like at a party.  Everyone interacted with each other and helped each other out with product ideas.  I am sure I could Skype or FaceTime too with people BUT I don’t do either of them very well.  I liked ZOOM because I could do it from my computer or a tablet or a phone.

Boost Your Business with a Facebook Auction

Unknown

This is a repost of excerpts from a blog post by the AMAZING Desiree Wolfe.  I have been a member of her Facebook group which has helped me to be accountable in my business.

Why a Facebook auction for your product based business?

Facebook auctions are an easy and effective way to generate profit that will go straight into your pocket. Seasonal, out of stock or discontinued items make for great auction inventory. By selling your physical stock you can increase your volume to make any goals or retail sales minimums. By doing auctions 2-3 time per year, or whenever you’re getting ready to purchase new products, this will help free up cash flow.

How do auctions work?
Auctions work by placing a lowest acceptable bid price on an item. Customers post how much they want to pay under each item image. The highest bidder wins the item at their listed price. If the product is really sought after, a bidding war amongst customers will raise the price and your profits. At the end of the event, you tally up the final sales and send a request for payment. Paypal, Stripe or Credit Cards are a more fast way to get paid. I don’t recommend accepting checks or waiting on cash payment unless you know the person personally and even then I’m hesitant. Auctions are meant to be quick cash in your bank account but you still need to treat the transaction like a business.

Here is your Facebook Auction Checklist.

Step 1. Decide on a Date and Time

Auctions typically last 3-4 hours. Although, I’ve been successful with auctions running as long as 5 days. Depending on how much inventory you have, your event might be shorter or longer. Keep in mind the last hour is the most exciting because people are trying to outbid each other.

Step 2. Set up a Facebook Event from Your PAGE

The Event is sort of the registration area. This is where you will promote how exciting the auction will be and encourage people to attend. Invite everyone to the event.

Step 3. Create a Group

The Group is where the live auction will take place. This is where you’ll be posting photos and interacting with Attendees. You want to use a group because you can control the privacy.

Step 4. Pre-Plan, Plan and then Double Check

Create a list of all the products you will be offering. Determine your lowest price, or the price you will open the bidding at. Number each product. This will be the order you post the descriptions and the images. Keeping them numbered help you stay organized. So the first product will be #1, second #2 and so on. It seems pretty simple but missing this step might make things chaotic when you go to schedule your posts. I strongly suggest you number your images the same way.

Step 5. Invite, Invite, Invite

Now it’s time to promote like crazy! Email your list, invite your friends, family and past customers & hostesses. Normally, I don’t encourage inviting “everyone” but it’s acceptable this one time, to invite more and more people. This is to generate interest in your business, not to sell products at a cheaper rate to other consultants.

Step 6. Pre-Schedule Your Posts

Save time by scheduling all of your product descriptions and images ahead of time. I use CinchShare. Then, at the time of your event, just pop in live and interact with attendees and watch everything flow for you.

Take the time to pre-plan and make sure you have enough time to promote your event. Utilize your lists and reach out to past customers. Auctions are a great way to bring in some cash and move your inventory. It frees up your cash flow in order to purchase seasonal or new products. And done strategically, they can be a great business builder! Good luck with your next auction.
