Transformation Revisited

I talked about the “Transformation” that took place at the Mom Grows a Business Conference… you know the one where I let go of years of baggage (and my lack of confidence).  Well, as things often do, they run their course and I figured it was back to the same old feelings.  WRONG!

It started at an ETTM networking meeting on Friday.  During the Think Tank portion of the meeting when we introduce ourselves that changed to “Hi, I am Hope and I give people H.O.P.E. by helping others to  pursue excellence through my blog and as a Director with Thirty One”.  WOW!  How confident I felt and I was surprised how the words just rolled of of my tongue.  As I talked about ‘not’ getting a new recruit (last month’s goal), I quickly changed to a positive about having another Director promote on my team.  No more talk about lack of confidence and struggle – a go-getter kind of attitude.

Fast forward to my first home party since the transformation…typically, I have struggled with nerves, finding the right words or worrying if they were going to “like” me and my party presentation.  Hold UP!!  I passed out my party cards (Thank you Shari Hudspeth) and started my presentation.  Played the dice game, too.  No worries about whether or not they were going to like me, just had fun.  Guess what!  I booked 2 parties and have a possible recruit!  WOW!  Everyone talked about how much fun they had.. the cards gave the information (booking & recruiting seeds) while I got to highlight our amazing products.

CONFIDENCE in ME!  Feeling okay with who I am and sharing my passion for Thirty One with EVERYONE!  Thank you Stephanie Dalfonzo for giving me back a life that I thought I had lost.  That was the greatest birthday gift that I could get.

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!

Get Your Girl Back

This is another reflection from the AMAZING Mom Grows a Business Conference that I attended last week.

Traci Bild was a speaker who sparked a flame in me.  Her “Get Your Girl Back Movement” made me realize that YOU can build a large business and ONLY work 24 hours a week.  Traci is a full-time mom with a multi-million dollar business on the side.    She works only 24 hours a week and has ONLY worked 24 hours a week since she began to build her business.  Her simple solution – if you don’t like where you are, change your thoughts!  Okay, so that sounds really basic but not always easy to do.

Here are some of her suggestions that resinated with me:

  • LIVE YOUR DREAM!  She didn’t say, reach for the stars and just DREAM BIG.  She said, LIVE those dreams.  Re-ignite your passion for life.  Have FUN!  Let the little girl in you shine through.  Don’t watch the kids play, play with them.
  • Define your priorities!  Family, Business, faith, health, friendship, finances.  Whatever your priority is, focus on it.  You can always make more money but you can’t make more hours in the day.  I don’t mean become a work-a-holic, did that and it didn’t work for me.  I am saying, be in the moment no matter where you are.
  • Build your goals around your priorities for a great work-life balance.  Ask yourself “does my life reflect balance?” or are you always trying to juggle those balls?  We have all set goals for our business, that is a no brainer.  Have you ever set goals for the other areas of your life?  I know I haven’t… what if a priority is your family?  Then why not set a goal for that part of your life. Say “I want to spend more time with my children/family”.  Then set THREE action steps to achieve that goal.  Okay, so the goal was kind of broad but you get the idea.
  • Stop chasing “IT”.   I had to laugh because I feel like many of us are always chasing “IT”.  We don’t know what it is or haven’t clearly defined “IT” but when we find “IT” we will be happier, right?
  • What is YOUR #1 time sucker? Facebook, Pinterest, the phone, errands, etc?  STOP and schedule time for it.  I know sounds kind of crazy when many of us get business from social media.  The truth is, it is sometimes a black hole that we fall into and realize 3 hours later that we have not accomplished anything on our to do list.  In some cases, maybe we just need to eliminate it from our life.

I am thinking, I know, never a good sign as hubby would say.  I have to admit that I have gotten better with checking my phone for messages when I am with hubby. I am still a work in progress but each day is a bit better.  If you only want to work 24 hours a week, make those 24 hours count.  Schedule office hours.  WORK, don’t hide behind the social media facade to look like you are working.

What are you going to do to “get your girl back”?  Share with us your ideas…

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!

Entrepreneurial Think Tank for Moms, Hope Wissel, Personal Causes

Happy Monday!  WOOHOO!  I am enjoying a new found freedom thanks to the AMAZING “Mom Grows A Business” conference on Friday.  I was blessed to be able to go along with my ETTM friends which made it even more fun.  Today, I am feeling like a young butterfly that has just emerged from her cocoon.

I have to admit, I wanted to go but I really didn’t understand how this kind of conference would help me – a direct sales consultant.  I mean EVERYONE that I met either had their own business (solo-preneur) or were getting ready to open their own business.  Here I was a Thirty One Director in the mix meeting amazing women but wondering how all of the available information would or could apply to my business.

Along comes the lunchtime round table discussion… I should have know it was going to be AWESOME when most of the lunch buffet catered to vegetarians.  YEAH!  Okay, with lunch done, the discussion began with Stephanie Dalfonzo and so she began to talk about the road blocks that are holding us back.  Stephanie shared that on her drive to the conference, she was lead to change her format for the discussion group.  I have heard these kind of talks before and they have helped for the  MOMENT.  I was lead to have her “work” with me.  I was a little curious because the process she used with me was different then the other two people at the table.

Stephanie is a Master Intuitive Coach, a powerful navigator – like your own personal G.P.S. Her use of E.F.T. (Emotional Freedom Techniques), and N.L.P. (Neuro-Linguistics Programming) made me a little nervous.  The difference this time – I was READY to overcome my ONE obstacle – NO CONFIDENCE!  Okay, I am sure that some are surprised by this revelation but the truth is beneath this crazy bag lady is a woman who experiences no confidence on a regular basis.  A simple 5 minute process changed EVERYTHING.  I know that there are some that are skeptical but the truth is – I feel like YEARS of no confidence is GONE!  It seemed funny to me that for the rest of the day, I smiled and felt relaxed even when I was walking up to new people and introducing myself.  Everyone at the table, reminded me for the remainder of the day that I was “radiant”.  WOW!  I can’t remember anyone every saying that before to me.  I can’t thank Stephanie enough for her life changing 5 minutes!

Not to worry, I will keep you posted on the long term outcome.  I am approaching my business and my personal life with more confidence.  I AM a GOOD Leader for my team.  I AM a GOOD wife, mom and daughter.  I AM an AWESOME Thirty One consultant who puts the needs of her customers and hostess above her sales.  Let’s see how this new freedom effects some of my blogs.. not in a bad way but by looking at things in a different way.

Share your thoughts… Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!

Mom Grows a Business

WOOHOO!  Happy Friday!  By the time you read this blog post, I will be arriving in White Plains New York for a day filled of workshops, networking and building relationships with my ETTM friends.  I had the honor of hearing Patty Lennon speak at ETTM’s Power of Connection Conference last year so I could not wait to attend her conference – Mom Grows a Business.

This conference is ideal for you if:

  1. You’re ready to redefine “doing it all,” so you can have the business success and family time you want and deserve.
  2. You’re tired of working reactively in business – and you’re ready to become the true CEO of your company!
  3. You’re ready to create a network of women in business who are also doing “the juggle,” and who understand what’s important to you.

I may not be a solo-preneur but being in direct sales, I always am looking for the opportunity to grow and learn from other women.  I am so looking for the balance between business success and family.  I have been blessed to create a network of women in business who understand me (sometimes better than I understand myself).

I am stepping out of my comfort zone to network with women, most of whom I don’t know.  I included Thirty One mini catalogs in the 200 grab bags to be given out to the attendees.  This will not only give me an opportunity to share Thirty One but it will also, hopefully, open the doors for more customers to visit my site.  I am a little nervous but I am going ready to network and build relationships with potential customers and recruits.

I can’t wait to share all I learn with you when I get back…

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!
