The Great LuLa Road Trip

I want to introduce you to an amazing LuLaRoe consultant.  I met her through my Traveling Angels and she helped me coin the title “the Angel Thirty One” lady.  When I met Dawn at a recent vendor event, she shared with me her summer goal of “The Great LuLa Road Trip” and she helped me to brainstorm some ideas I am going to try as well.

Hi lula loving ladies! My name is Dawn Valentine and I’ve been a consultant since October alongside my boyfriend Greg. I first heard about LuLaRoe when my sister in law invited me to an online party. I bought some clothes out of obligation, which ended up not even fitting, and after putting on my leggings which were falling off of me I was smitten! Yes! With leggings that were too big, I was in love. I had to figure out what all this LuLa craze was! I had seen an advertisement for this beautiful Perfect T- black background with dandelion flowers. This quickly became my obsession and my ultimate unicorn. 🦄 It boggled my mind that the consultant didn’t have THAT actual shirt. What do you mean I can’t order it? Do you only have this shirt in this size? I was learning the allure of LuLaRoe. The limited prints and patterns and the HUNT was real. So I joined a bazillion groups and found so much more than clothes. I found a culture. Fun loving girls working hard to support their family. I thought to myself, “I can do this.” I loved it all- the games, the giveaways, mystery hostess. Every page always had something unique. Something exciting I wanted to be a part of. And that’s when I said to Greg, I want to do this! I can do this! And so we did it! And now here we are a part of the fun and the culture of LuLaRoe about to embark on a series of Pop Up parties from NJ to Florida, we are taking our love for LuLa on the road! You can follow our trip by subscribing to our YouTube channel LuLaRoe DMV. We will be vlogging our whole experience! Everything! From the moment we wake up, to each and every party to driving down the entire cost and back! It’s going to be amazing and we’d love to have you with us. And just for subscribing to our YouTube Channel, you will be entered to win a LuLaRoe wardrobe giveaway! Want to increase your chances?! Anyone who books a party with us this summer will get 5 entries! If you can’t have an in home, we also do online parties! Or maybe you know a friend who wants to have a party? We’ll give you two entries for that too! Help us share our love for LuLa! We have some huge dreams of being able to provide for ourselves with LuLaRoe and you all help us reach those dreams so thank you! Looking forward to seeing you on the LuLa Roe’d!!!!

Dawn’s goal was 10 parties on this road trip and she has booked 8.  She set a goal and went for it. Join her on Facebook and YouTube to be part of the fun.

Think about how you can take your business on the road.  Going on vacation? I know we all need them BUT why not have some fun meeting some new people along the way.  Staying at a hotel, have a trunk party or ask the hotel if you can use some space to share your products with guests.  Nothing salesy or pushy, just some fun.

Have friends or family along the route?  I mean we all have Facebook friends far and wide, right?  Why not offer them a home party or a theme party or a trunk party?  When was the last time a Facebook friend said they wished they lived closer to have a party?  I hear it ALOT!  Now is the time to take advantage of the situation.  How about a party on the go at a local restaurant in their area?  Think about the friends you will make the potential new customers.

Dawn and Greg are driving to Florida for vacation.  They are partying all the way down and back.  Not only with Dawn grow her customer base BUT she can also write off her trip as a business expense.  Yes, almost all of her vacation will be tax deductible.

I’m so excited to see how this turns out for them.  I’m thinking about my next road trip and how I can party along the way.  Headed to Atlanta in route to Florida for the Leadership Incentive Trip, maybe I can schedule a party or two along the way.

What will You Give Up To Have Success

I’m so excited…in just 4 short days, I will be leaving NJ to head to Columbus Ohio.  Okay, for some that may not sound exciting but for me it is a HUGE milestone.  It is HUGE for me because health challenges have subsided enough that I can travel.  I will be attending Thirty One’s National Conference.  I will be entering my pink bubble to re-connect with old friends and connect with new ones.  I will soaking up lots of training and getting a sneak peek at the NEW Fall prints and products.  WOOHOO!!

So this week, I will be talking about working from home and building a business that you love.  For those who say “I don’t have a business so this won’t pertain to me”, if you are a stay at home MOM, you are working.  Here are some things that I “gave up” in order to become successful in my business…

It’s selfish to consider my own needs first.

As women, we take care of EVERYONE!  We continually place our needs at the bottom of the list.  Not only can this mindset stop you cold in your ability to sell your products and recruit new team mates; it can also leaving your cup empty with nothing to give to anyone else. If you are overly focused on everyone else you will have a hard time asking for business (or help with household tasks). It is important to fill your cup on a regular basis.

It’s my fault if others aren’t happy.

This is a tough one and I struggle with this in all aspects of my life.  You are not responsible for the feelings of others. Read that again and let it sink in.  There is NOTHING that you can do that will make unhappy people happy.  The reverse is also true that no one can make you unhappy either.  I encourage you to focus on what you can control (yourself) and let go of what you can’t (others).  I know this can be easier said then done.

I must say “YES” when people ask me for my time.

No is a very powerful word. If you can get comfortable with it, you can free yourself from a lot of unnecessary commitments and headaches. If you are leading a team, saying NO to complaining, excuses and drains on your time can be empowering. Running a household, don’t allow people to suck you dry. Invest your time where you want and allow others to feel however they choose (check out #2!).

I wish things were different than they are right now.

Do you think like this?  When you feel like this, are you ready to quit before you even get start?  Forget about pursuing your dream, right? This is part of the comparison game of life.  Here’s a secret….you are exactly where you are supposed to be. Trust the process, keep working and know that each day you are making progress, learning new things and becoming the person you need to be

Tough lessons no matter where you are in your life.  I have found in the last month or so, when I began to accept 100% responsibility for my own actions, thoughts and attitudes, I am able to smile more and stress less.  My business is blooming (again), and there is more harmony at home.

Share your thoughts with us…Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!

I signed up for Walk MS because I have been diagnosed with MS.  You can get the “full” story by clicking HERE!

Here is the Reader’s Digest version.  “Squirrel Moment” (or random memory)…My grandfather used to get the Reader’s Digest delivered to the house.  I can remember him sitting in HIS chair with his head buried in the book.  Then in college, my roommate’s mom worked for Reader’s Digest in Mt. Kisco, NY.  Useless tidbit for some BUT it is a memory and I treasure them.

So, in December 2015 just before Christmas we received the diagnosis. It has been 3+ years of illnesses and health challenges.  I don’t fit the profile of an MS patient because I am 58 years old.  The truth is that the health challenges that I have faced for years, now come together as part of the MS.  It took one caring doctor to listen before things began to happen.  On the outside, I look the same BUT on the inside MS has attacked my memory giving me good days and bad days.

This is a charity walk that is changing the lives of people with MS and helping fuel progress toward a world free of MS. I’d love your generous support as I prepare for my walk.

2015walk-logo I hope that others will join me on the Rays of Hope Team.  Walk to make a difference in the lives of others.  The Walk is on April 16th with registration at 9AM in Seaside Park, NJ.  If you want to DONATE or JOIN our team. Click the links.

We have a Facebook Page too.  I will be doing fundraisers with some of my favorite Direct Sellers over the next month, with a portion of those sales being donated to our Walk fund.  First up is Jamberry Raising Awareness Event. Click HERE.

During the month of March, I will donate 10% of ALL my Thirty One retail/party sales to the Walk, too.  Everyone will be entered into a drawing for a special “thank you” gift from me.

HOPEHelping Other People Everyday is my goal.  My vision is for a world where “random acts of kindness” are a normal part of our day.

Won’t you help to make a difference?  Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!
