WOOHOO Wednesday!  I LOVE when I wake up in the morning with an AHA moment.  I haven’t even finished my second cup of coffee and already my mind is in overdrive.  This week is about reflection in my Thirty One business and setting goals for the NEW YEAR!

First, let me recap 2013 – 2014:

  • Personal Volume: $26,028
  • Recruits: 4
  • Parties Held: 48
  • Average Party: $542
  • Team Sales: $104,112
  • Total Downline: 22

Now, here is 2014 – 2015:

  • Personal Volume: $21,834
  • Recruits: 4
  • Parties Held: 37
  • Average Party: $590
  • Team Sales: $191,795
  • Total Downline: 40

You are probably wondering, why WOOHOO?  Because I learned from this comparison.  First, the obvious – the money is in the parties.  Not as many parties, not as much personal volume.  Okay, this is a no-brainer right, especially in the party plan business.  You have to work your business like a business for it to be successful.  You need to put yourself out there, try new things and keep showing up.

This past year was full of personal growth and challenges for me.  I CELEBRATE that I was able to maintain my business while dealing with my depression.  I CELEBRATE that I was able to ENCOURAGE my team to reach for their goals despite my difficulties.  I CELEBRATE that my I have a 90% retention rate with my recruits which means not a lot of kit nappers.  I CELEBRATE that I increased my party average which means more FREE products for my hostesses.

Along wit a NEW year full of excitement comes NEW goals.  Those goals won’t just be written on paper but there will be ACTION steps to go along with them.

I am going to share my journey on how I work my business with you.  I hope that no matter where you are in your business or with what direct sales company you are with, we will be able to CELEBRATE together when goals are achieved.

Today is going to be AWESOME… not only am I meeting with TWO potential recruits BUT I am also working with Eryka Peskin.  Eryka is an Abundance Coach and a Fierce Cheerleader.   She is committed to freeing you from the limiting beliefs and scarcity mentality that keeps you locked into unfulfilling, uninspiring and soul-sucking situations.  WOW!  Doesn’t that sound exciting?  Check her out on Facebook.  Like her on Facebook so you can hear about some of her programs – the last one was a Celebration Challenge for 14 days.  It was FREE and it helped me reframe and CELEBRATE all areas of my life.  What a great way to kick off the NEW YEAR!

CRUNCH Time with a Positive Attitude

Well, here it is the last day of the month. For those in direct sales, this is CRUNCH time.  Now I don’t mean the sit-up kind – I mean that race to the last minute to meet our personal and team goals for the month.

For the leaders in Thirty One, we are ending the month not only reaching for our personal and team goals but we are also working hard to earn that FREE trip to the Riviera Maya in September.  Many have already earned the trip and I am so excited for them.  There are some of us who are still dreaming BIG and reaching for the goal.

So, what does that have to do with a positive attitude?  It is easy to feel envious as others are reaching their goals and seem to be growing at a pace that you have dreamed of for so long.  It is easy to let Doubtful Debbie and Negative Nellie step in and take over, crushing your dreams and your enthusiasm.

Here are some things that I have learned recently – yes, just recently, that are helping me to be optimistic and continue pushing for the dream till the very last minute.

Focus on yourself.  This has always been a tough one for me because I have been playing the comparison game since high school.  The truth is that it is unproductive, takes up energy and in the end can send off some negative vides to the people around us.  Realize that there is nothing you can to do to change events outside your control. What you can do, however, is find ways to make changes in your own life.  Step out of your comfort zone.  Read a self-development book.  Fill your calendar with positive,  productive things.  Set small goals and reward yourself when you achieve them.

Things are not always what they seem.  Does the grass look greener on the other side?  Of course but the question is “Is it?”.  The truth is that everyone’s life has both good and bad.  It’s unrealistic to compare our own lives, which we know inside out, to the shiny, clean surface of someone else’s.  But how many of us have done this?

Life is a marathon, not a sprint.  Okay, so I am NOT a runner.  I was always falling behind but I did always finish.  The truth is the only one who I was falling behind were my own expectations.    What about you?  Do you except too much of yourself?  Do you worry that you will never catch up to everyone else? We are each running our own marathon.  We will be winners no matter when we cross the finish line.

Envy is an unproductive feeling but it’s perfectly natural and happens to everyone.  The difference is how we deal with it.  Will we let it consume our lives to the point of being unhealthy and make us helpless?  Will it crush our positive attitude or will it cause us to fight harder for what we want?

I am learning to change the negative into a positive.  I am taking steps to by putting out a detailed action plan and implementing it.  I am learning from others’ successes and difficulties.  I am applying them as lessons in my own life.

Time to CRUNCH numbers.  I am positive that Personal Volume and Team sales goals will be met.  I am not sure about the trip to Mexico but it is okay.  I am learning that there is a reason for everything and there is always next year.

Riviera Maya In September

WOW!  I can’t believe that it is November 1st…..It only seems like yesterday that I was enjoying the warmer weather of summer.  Yes, I am a warm weather kind of gal – toes in the sand, hot (not humid) and loving the long daylight hours.  As we turn the clocks back tonight – DON’T forget Spring AHEAD, Fall BACK – I dread the darkness of the morning hours and the colder days.

Alright, enough of the dark, bleak talk and on to more exciting things… TODAY marks the first day of the earning period for the Leadership Incentive Trip for Thirty One.

In the past, this announcement has been a bit disappointing for me…Yes, I was a Director and eligible to win.  Yes, I hit (and exceeded) my personal sales. Yes, my team hit (and exceeded) the team requirements.  So why did I not have my toes in the sand?  The minimum requirement USED to be that you needed 5 people to join Thirty One in a specific period of time.  UGH!  For me that was a struggle, I usually made it to 2 but reaching that 5 seemed to NOT be in God’s plan for me.

Fast forward to this year’s announcement and I am giddy with excitement.  Thirty One has heard us and would like to see MORE people earn this AMAZING trip to the Hard Rock Cafe in the Riviera Maya…. so, they have implemented a point system.  Yes, there is still the minimum in personal sales.  Yes, there is still the minimum for team sales.  Yes, there is still a minimum for recruiting BUT it is a minimum of 2.  Can you believe it?  Then there are additional ways to earn points so that you can win either a trip for 1, a trip for 2 or an ultra trip for 2.

So, from November 1 – April 30, 2015, I along with some of my team will be working to earn this FREE, all expenses paid trip.  I am so looking forward to having my toes in the sand in September, 2015.  I am looking forward to being in the pink bubble with my Thirty One sisters.

I know why blog about it, right?  First, I am putting it out there for the universe that this is MY trip.  This is the one that I will be on…and praying that as I work towards it God will bless it as part of his plan for me.  Second, Thirty One has changed my life in so many ways, and I want to share that gift with as many people as possible.

When I joined, I wanted discounts and hoped that I would make a little bit extra money.  I had no confidence in myself, self-esteem was at a low and I swore that I would NEVER do home parties.  Here I am, just short a few months short of 4 years, and it has become my full-time income.  My confidence is growing, my self-esteem has improved AND I am enjoying LOTS of FREE products.  Now, I know that “selling” is not for everyone but I don’t sell.  I know that “going into strangers homes to do parties” is not for everyone but there are so many other options (catalog parties, vendor events, fundraising, etc).

Who doesn’t LOVE FREE products (or at least a HUGE discount)? Who wouldn’t love to be able to shop guilt FREE because you are earning a commission on what you sell (or buy)?  Why not try it?  What was the last thing that you spent $99 on?  Do you still use it?  Why not get $400 worth of product with a potential of an additional $400 in FREE product – all for $99?

Want a little girl time?  Need some extra money to pay for the kids activities?  Want to be able to plan a vacation without worrying about the cost?  Want to pay off those credit card bills?  How about having a debt free Christmas by paying cash for everything?
