Planting Seeds

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

What do you think of when I ask “are you planting seeds“?  Does your mind wander to gardens with fresh veggies or beautiful flowers? Or, do you think about the people that you influence every day?  I used to think about a garden and my response was usually “I don’t have much of a green thumb” or “I do annual flowers so that I don’t have to worry about my garden all of the time”.  Yes, I used to have a flower bed, actually several of them around the yard.  I loved going out in the spring planting new flowers and then watching them grow all year long.

When I entered direct sales, I used to take a “no” from a potential hostess or recruit as gospel.  Okay, so I tended to take it personally.  I moved on to the next person and sort of gave up.  Does that sound like you?  Then I heard, repeatedly, that I was planting seeds that may eventually come back to book or join my team.  I was skeptical as I am sure you are UNLESS you have seen those planted seeds grow.

Are you still wondering when you planted seeds?  Potential customers, hostesses and recruits are much like our kids.  Okay, hear me out.  Every day we plant seeds of love, contentment, faith, product usage, encouragement and success.  We do this verbally, by our body language, in conversations and on social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.  People watch us.  Some are actually looking to catch us saying one thing and doing another.

Days, weeks, months and sometimes even a year later those seeds may grow into something more. Think about it for a minute.  How many times have you shared your amazing products with someone or asked them to host a party or maybe even join your team with the results always a “NO”?  Then out of the blue, you get a call or that person places an order.  They are YOUR planted seeds growing.  I have to admit that I am always amazed when they say “I have been watching you” or “You seem to really love what you do”.  To us it seems like a no-brainer but for the Doubtful Debbie, they needed to be convinced in their own time about what you were saying or offering to them.

Think well about the seeds you are planting as you influence the people around you every day.

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!
