#31share FB cover

Happy Monday!

I am so excited to share Thirty One’s “Pay It Forward” program for the month of July.  I love being a part of a company that is continually giving back to the community in so many ways.  So here are the details:

#31share is a random acts of kindness movement dedicated to sharing our Thirty-One heart and values while also giving back to the two communities hosting Conference – Denver and Columbus. But the movement isn’t limited to just those two cities. Perform random acts of kindness wherever you live, and let us know about it on social media!

Every time #31share is used from July 1-31, Thirty-One will make a donation to both the Mid-Ohio Foodbank AND the Food Bank of the Rockies! Our goal is to raise $10,000 for each! Both of these organizations are part of Feeding America, which is the nation’s leader in hunger relief. Your good deed will help those in need!

Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/thirtyone

How easy it that?  Simply share the #31shares when you perform a random act of kindness by posting a the picture on social media (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) or simply making the statement.

So, what is a Random act of Kindness? Maybe acts of kindness are part of your every day life.  Maybe you don’t even think about it.  I have to admit, that kind words to a stranger or holding the door or saying thank you are part of my every day routine.  I always think that the “act of kindness” has to be something more.  The truth is – it doesn’t.  Big or small, if it shows kindness to someone or brings a smile – it makes a difference.

So, what will you do today  to make someone smile?

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!

Manifesting Magnets

Make today count 5 2014  2014-05-17 12.26.58

It is Throwback Thursday!  This is from a Thirty One Leaders training held about 2 years ago.  Cindy Monroe joined us in the afternoon and NO, I didn’t cry this time when I met her.  What an AWESOME day!

I have been reading (and re-reading The Secret) as well as getting the daily teachings on my phone.  Do you use Manifesting Magnets?  I have become obsessed with them, in a good way.

It is all about ASKING, BELIEVING and RECEIVING all that the universe has for us.  In the past, I was great at asking but when it came to truly believing in my core, well that wasn’t happening.  Did I mention that I am not great at receiving BUT awesome at giving?  I know there are a lot more of you out there like that, right?

Some have not read The Secret, but I have heard them talk about manifesting magnets which is along the some line.  You are using your focus and energy to bring positive results.  Maybe you are looking for money, opportunity, love, or harmony.  Whatever your desire, you can manifest it (ask for it).  Do you think that I am crazy?  Are you saying “I keep asking for  XYZ and nothing happens”?  Remember it is a 3-step process not just 1!

I came across these  3 manifesting magnets:

1.      Put a gratitude alarm on your phone that says “What am I grateful for right now?”  (gratitude is the gateway to positive manifesting)

2      Decide every day to do 1 small thing for someone else  (you instantly align yourself with positive flow when you do)

3.     Choose an empowering image and use it as the wallpaper on your phone, tablet and computer (this creates a trigger to put you in a state of positive vibration and manifestation)

These 3 simple steps have power in them.  By building manifesting magnets into your life, you will open the flow to your desire.  By doing these simple things, you will also actually start to BELIEVE that your desire will come to fruition.

The last step is to be ready to receive the blessings.  A fierce cheerleader, Eryka Peskin, gave me a great tip that I have been practicing ALOT.  When someone pays me a compliment, I say “thank you, it is true”.  Does it sound cocky?  To some it might.  The reality is that is how I am learning to RECEIVE and BELIEVE at the same time.    I mean how many of you receive a compliment, say thank you BUT truly don’t believe what the person has said. OR you counter it with “thank you BUT”.  STOP!  You are manifesting negativity instead of positivity.  I know it isn’t easy.   Believe me it has taken me weeks.  It can happen though and when it does, you will be amazed at how you feel.

So, set the alarm on your phone (for random times if possible).  Do something nice for someone each day.  Post that picture of what you want where you will see it all of the time.  Don’t just post the picture and glance at it.  Take a moment to actually FEEL what it will be like to have that item.  For me, it is a check – some extra unexpected cash for National Conference and a short trip to see my daughter.  I believe that it will come.

I have the power in me to make it happen and so do you!  What is your desire?  Have you asked the Universe for it? Do you believe that it will come? And are you ready to receive it when it does?

I would love to hear your thoughts on manifesting magnets.  Have  ThirtyOne-derful day!

Giving Back

Since I began my journey with Thirty One, I have provided a fundraising component to my business.  It didn’t matter whether it was a small goal or a HUGE goal, I wanted to help.  I have also been able to donate to various causes…

I always wanted to give back to the various communities that have helped me personally and professionally over the years.  If I couldn’t give to that group specifically I wanted to do “random acts of kindness”.

This group of zipper pouches were donated to the Pediatric Unit at Ocean Medical for Easter..

I was blessed to be able to donate these mini zipper pouches to Enchanted Makeovers to add a special touch to a magical night

This was my favorite response…these kids were able to go back to school with bags like everyone else in their school colors.  They couldn’t wait to show them off.

No, I am not telling you all of this to toot my own horn. I NEVER do any of these projects without the help of my AMAZING customers, hostesses, family and friends.  Individuals who believe in the cause, or just want to help.  Okay, can you guess where this is leading…. YOU GOT IT!

In 2015, my goal is to do a Random Act of Kindness every month in 2015 with YOUR help.  In January, I am looking for sponsors for Chemo Comfort Bags…

chemo comfort bags

The $25 sponsorship will pay for the bag and I will use ALL of my commission to fill them with a variety of things including a blanket, notepad, pen, mints, candy, lotion, warm socks, chap stick and crossword puzzle book.  They will be donated to local cancer care centers.  My goal is 31 by the end of the month.  Yes, that is January 31st.  This way the bags will arrive in the beginning of February so that I can stuff them and deliver them to local centers around Valentine’s Day.

So, who is with me?  For $25 you can bring a smile to someone who is fighting the cancer battle.  This project is near and dear to my heart.  It is a tribute to my Weston angels – Edythe, Elsie and Pop-pop – who all had cancer.

You can sponsor a bag in memory of someone, in honor of someone or just anonymously. Payments can be made via check or through Paypal at hopesgiftcloset@@comcast.net.

Won’t you help to make a difference today?

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!

Random Act of Kindness

According to Wikipedia, a “random act of kindness” is a selfless act performed by a person or people wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual person or people.   Random acts of kindness are usually anonymous.

My favorite local radio station Star 99.1, suggests the “drive thru difference” which is simple: Go to a drive-thru for your morning coffee, out for a quick bite for lunch, or anywhere you go to make a purchase and just pay the bill of the person behind you and show a little kindness. You’ll impact someone’s day in ways much greater than just buying something for yourself.  A fun and easy (also inexpensive way) to impact someone’s day.

I say all of this to express my gratitude for the random act of kindness that I was blessed with this past weekend.  I have been contemplating a new (or used) basic sewing machine.  I have hesitated because I am trying very hard to watch finances and stay on budget.  At this time, although my “creative side” says go for it no matter the cost – my practical side says “is it a necessity and can you pay cash?”.  Okay, since the answer to both of those questions were a resounding NO, I decided to wait.  Over the weekend, I was talking to a fellow crafter, whose work I admire.  She is very talented and I was actually buying a gift for Belinda – shhhh!!  Anyway, in the course of the conversation, I talked about my desire to have another sewing machine and all of the ideas that were floating in my head.  Milissa said “wait a minute” and sent her significant other out to the car.  He returned with a Brother LS2125 sewing machine, the same one that I had been looking at and used to own.  When I offered to pay her for it, her response was “it has only been sitting in my car so I am glad that someone can use it”.  Yes, the tears started to flow.  Milissa was a little concerned that she had done something wrong to make me cry.  The truth was, they were tears of joy.  Her random act of kindness was such an overwhelming gesture that words could not describe my gratitude.  After tears and hugs, I thanked her and then proceeded to share HER AWESOME WORK with everyone.  Now,  I am not going to post her website here because it was “a random act of kindness” but she knows who she is as do the few others that witnessed this generosity.  This was definitely a God moment for me….

Thank you Milissa for your generosity.  Your simple act of kindness though insignificant to you helped me tremendously over the weekend.  A blessing received from you will turn into an opportunity for me to bless others.

Have you ever been the recipient of a “random act of kindness”?  Share with us the difference it made in YOUR life.

Have a ThirtyOne-derful day!
